Mennour is an art gallery founded in Paris in 1999. Today, it is one of the key actors in contemporary art and the art market.
Founded in Paris in 1999 by Kamel Mennour, Mennour has established itself in just over twenty-five years as one of the leading players in contemporary art on the French and international scene. Through a rigourous exhibition programme, projects carried out in partnership with major cultural institutions, a sustained presence at the principal international art fairs, and a global network of collectors and collaborators, the gallery asserts a leading international reach.
Based across four spaces in Paris—on the Left Bank in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and on the Right Bank on Avenue Matignon—the gallery develops a programme that brings into dialogue different generations of artists and diverse periods in art history. This transhistorical approach lies at the core of its identity: fostering an encounter between modern and contemporary creation in order to continually reassess the notion of contemporaneity.
Mennour now represents more than fifty living artists and estates, among the major figures in modern and contemporary art. It supports internationally recognised artists such as Daniel Buren, Anish Kapoor, Lee Ufan, Ugo Rondinone, Camille Henrot and Alicja Kwade. The gallery also represents significant estates including those of Huang Yong Ping, François Morellet, Judit Reigl, Baya and Eugène Carrière. Remaining faithful to its commitment to emerging talent, the gallery has contributed to the careers of artists now firmly at the forefront of the field, among them Mohamed Bourouissa and Petrit Halilaj, while also fostering new voices such as Dhewadi Hadjab and Mohammad AlFaraj. Finally, the gallery regularly highlights major figures of the twentieth century including Alberto Giacometti, Jannis Kounellis, Zao Wou-Ki, Kazimir Malevich, Joan Mitchell, Dan Flavin, Frank Stella, Louise Nevelson and Louise Bourgeois.
Beyond exhibitions, Mennour carries out extensive editorial work through the publication of monographs, catalogues raisonnés, critical essays, and thematic publications that contribute to art historical research and extend artistic projects.
Since 2015, Kamel Mennour has initiated the exceptional charity auction “HEROES for Imagine,” in support of the Institut Imagine — an international centre for research, care and education dedicated to genetic diseases — which has already raised more than 32 million euros.
In 2023, Mennour founded the Mennour Institute to promote research and education in the field of twentieth and twenty-first-century art. Through doctoral fellowships, educational programmes and philanthropic activities, the Mennour Institute is committed to supporting creativity, knowledge and the sharing of expertise in the field of contemporary art.
In 2025, Mennour announced an exceptional donation of 218 works to the collections of the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris. This donation will be the subject of an exhibition in March 2027, accompanied by a major catalogue.
