Statices again takes its title from the name of a moth listed in Girod (35). The combination of linear Botticellian heads over somewhat more fully rendered sculptural figures (the central one here shown twice, front and back) recus in other transparences on canvas of the period, notable Ganga, Psi and Briseis.
