SAMEDI EN FAMILLE: WHAT IS IT?

Making contemporary art accessible to people of all ages, is what the "Samedi en famille" program is about.

Tour an exhibition, take part in an activity and enjoy a snack, for children aged 5  to 10.

Conceived and led by Anette Robinson, a passionate national museum lecturer and expert for young audiences, these tours allow visitors to discover an exhibition from a child’s point of view: we talk about the artist and their story. We look at the works and many questions, surprises and curiosities arise.

Every "Samedi en famille", every visit, is unique, as the exhibitions at Mennour often change!  Over the year 2023, children played with Daniel Buren’s mirrors and stripes, rode in Bertrand Lavier’s sumptuous red car, got lost in Tadashi Kawamata’s labyrinth, and admired the courage of painter Judit Reigl, who crossed Europe on foot to become one of the greatest artists of the 20th century living in Paris.

These tours last around an hour and a half. They’re free and can be booked in advance (subject to availability).
