<i>This new group of paintings marks a decisive shift in the studio moving from a focus on the external aspects of the ultraviolet spectrum and its phenomenological effects within the visible landscape into what has now become a decisively inward regard towards the ‘invisible’ light show that exists within the interior of the body. This endogenous light consists largely of biophotons that enter the body through the skin via the sun’s radiation and is accompanied by a massive amount of electromagnetic energy and information. Both classical physics and the quantum biological aspects of this phenomena have significantly informed my approach to the consideration of how light can function both as a source of energy and illumination but perhaps more exotically as a method of intracellular communication within the landscape of the body. <br /></i> <br />Cette nouvelle série de peintures marque un tournant dans l’atelier, passant d’une focalisation sur les aspects externes du spectre ultraviolet et ses effets phénoménologiques au sein du paysage visible à une contemplation désormais résolument tournée vers l’intérieur, vers le « spectacle de lumière invisible » qui existe à l’intérieur du corps. Cette lumière endogène est composée en grande partie de biophotons, qui pénètrent dans le corps par la peau sous l’effet du rayonnement solaire, accompagnée d’une quantité massive d’énergie électromagnétique et d’informations. Tant la physique classique que les aspects de la biologie quantique de ce phénomène ont largement influencé mon approche pour examiner comment la lumière peut fonctionner non seulement comme une source d’énergie et d’illumination, mais peut-être, plus exotiquement, comme un moyen de communication intracellulaire au sein du paysage du corps.<br /><br />
