Si Okarina e Runikut, 2023

Petrit Halilaj, né à Kostërc, au Kosovo, en 1986, nous présente un monde à la fois surréel et familier dont est issue cette pièce.<br />En pénétrant dans l’univers de l’artiste, le visiteur décrit un certain étonnement, frappé par la vision d’une forêt d’ocarinas perchés sur des pattes comme sur des arbres. <br />A l’image de cette pièce, il s’agit d’instruments à vent du Kosovo, façonnés en argile depuis le Néolithique. Ceux-ci ont été modelés dans la terre natale de l’artiste puis surmodelés par ce dernier, qui, pour cette installation, s’est fait enseigner la technique par l’un des derniers créateurs d’ocarinas au Kosovo, Shaqir Hoti. Leurs formes comme leurs sons transportent et habitent le visiteur.<br />Toutes les œuvres du jeune artiste sont façonnées par les intrusions de l’Histoire dans son enfance, marquée par la guerre en ex-Yougoslavie et la vie dans un camp de réfugiés en Albanie; mais l’essentiel, pour lui, est l’inauguration de nouveaux agencements, de nouveaux liens et leurs promesses vitales.<br /><br /><br />Petrit Halilaj, born in Kostërc, Kosovo, in 1986, presents a world that is both surreal and familiar.<br />By entering the universe created by the artist, the visitor experiences a certain astonishment, struck by the vision of a forest of ocarinas perched on paws as on trees.<br />Like this piece, these are wind instruments from Kosovo, shaped in clay since the Neolithic. These were modeled in the artist’s homeland and then modeled by the artist, who for this installation was taught the technique by one of the last creators of ocarinas in Kosovo, Shaqir Hoti. Their shapes and sounds thrill and inhabit the visitor.<br />All the works of the young artist are shaped by the intrusions of history in his childhood, marked by the war in former Yugoslavia and life in a refugee camp in Albania; but what is essential for him is the inauguration of new arrangements, new links and their vital promises.
