Nature Works combine the beauty with the dark side of nature. These quilts portray captivating landscapes with dark implications, such as the burning gas flares in Nigeria, expressing both the abstract beauty and hazards of fire. In our time, the earth is in a seemingly constant battle with fire. From global warming, catastrophic forest fires, and explosions caused by global conflict burning up our world. These pictures are beautiful in their abstraction and yet this abstraction is derived from the dark realities of our time. Bringing to the fore the profound impact of Western colonisation and industrialisation on nature and climate change.
