This series of mural aluminium framed sculptures by Mohamed Bourouissa is part of a research project on gesture and contact. This reflection was initiated by the artist in his foray into theater (Quartier de Femmes, 2023) and recent film (Généalogie de la Violence, 2024), for which he has collaborated with choreographers. The photographs of the Hands series are printed on colored Plexiglas and layered with metal pieces and grids. Touch becomes an expression of sensibility, and a support for the tridimensional development of a certain “emotional geometry” that has characterized the artist’s work since the beginning.
