Lucie Antoinette
Born in 1993, LUCIE ANTOINETTE lives and works in Paris.
Each of Lucie Antoinette’s images is part of a larger narrative. Her works explore the dimension of dreams through nocturnal scenes of equivocal poetics. The viewer is invited to attend a play performed through closed eyelids. His floating stagings, with their blurred boundaries, evoke shifting impressions.
In her works, nature seems to reinvent its myths in environments that are simultaneously aquatic, terrestrial and celestial. On canvas, different scales of identification, figuration and abstraction coexist.
After graduating from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne with a degree in Fine Arts and Art Science, she received a diploma from the Beaux-Arts de Nantes with honors. She then continued her studies at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, in Tim Eitel’s studio, where she obtained a graduate diploma last year.
Lucie Antoinette took part in the Biennale de la jeune création in Nantes, exhibited at the Château de Vincennes and in several galleries in Paris, Nantes and Senlis. She also completed an internship with Alex Foxton and a residency at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin. In 2023, her work features in numerous group shows, including at Galerie Mennour and in London.
