Born in France in 1994, Clémence Gbonon lives and works in Paris. She studied international public law before entering the Beaux-Arts de Paris (in the studios of Djamel Tatah and Bruno Perramant). She spent a semester at Cooper Union in New York, where she studied with Firelei Báez and Yto Barrada, before graduating with honors from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2024. In 2022, she was studio assistant to artist Kapwani Kiwanga. Her work has been shown in group exhibitions at the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2025 and 2024, at FF Projects in Lagos (Nigeria) in 2024, at Canada Gallery in New York (USA) as part of Connection (a performance by artist Peter BD) in 2023, and at Cooper Union in New York (USA) in 2022.
