Le Sablier I, 1946

<i>Le Sablier I,</i> comme plus tard <i>Diabolo,</i> 1950, font partie des œuvres de petites dimensions qui ont précédé une grande œuvre sur le même thème — <i>Le Sablier II,</i> 1950 et <i>Le Sablier III,</i> 1953, ainsi que <i>Le Diabolo grand,</i> 1950 —, créée la même année ou quelques années plus tard.<br /><br /><em>Le Sablier I</em>, like the later <em>Diabolo</em>, 1950, is a case of a work produced in a small dimension through which would be followed in the same year or a few years later a large-scale work on the same theme: <em>Le Sablier II</em>, 1950, and <em>Le Sablier III</em>, 1953; <em>Le Diabolo grand</em>, 1950.<br /><br /><i>Le Sablier I,</i> a été créé par Germaine Richier directement en cire. <br />Pour <i>Le Sablier I,</i> il existe, à côté du tirage original, une Épreuve exposition (L. Thinot fondeur, Paris, avec le procédé de la fonte à cire perdue, fonte au sable pour la terrasse).<br /><br /><em>Le Sablier I</em> was made by Germaine Richier directly in wax. <br />For <em>Le Sablier I</em>, alongside the original edition, there exists, alongside the original edition, an exhibition copy (L. Thiénot foundry, Paris, made using the lost-wax process and sand casting for the integral base).
